Mitel MiVoice Office 400 Series - Serial Connection

These instructions help you configure your Mitel MiVoice Office 400 Series phone system to work with TIM Enterprise. Contact your system maintainer if you are not familiar with the configuration of your PBX.

Support files

Ensure the following support files exist in the /config/ folder of the TIM Enterprise application:

Aastra PC5.TDT.TDS
Aastra PC5.TDT.TDT

Configure the SMDR output

You may need to purchase a license to enable SMDR on this PBX. Please speak to your system maintainer if you are unsure.

The Mitel MiVoice Office 400 Series can output SMDR information in multiple formats. You should always select the PC5 format for use with TIM Enterprise.

Install NetPBX

The Mitel MiVoice Office 400 phone system sends SMDR information via a serial connection. To collect the data from the serial port and send it to TIM Enterprise you first need to install the NetPBX software. You can download NetPBX from our gateway. If you are unable to, please contact support.

Configure TIM Enterprise

Follow the steps below to configure TIM Enterprise to connect to your Mitel MiVoice Office 400:

  1. Click on the Directory tab.

  2. If you don't have a PBX object, press New object and select PBX. Name your site and then select Add. Locate the PBX object you want to configure in the Directory, click on it and select Properties.

  3. A new window will open, displaying the general properties of your PBX object. Select Astra PC5 from the Data format list box, as shown below:

  4. Click on the Connection tab and select No Connection from the Connection method list.

  5. Click on the Save button to apply the settings.
